Keck Medicine of USC

Keck Medicine of USC includes the Keck School of Medicine of USC, the region’s first medical school; the renowned USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the first comprehensive cancer centers established by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States; the USC Care Medical Group, a medical faculty practice; the Keck Medical Center of USC, which includes two acute care hospitals: 401-licensed bed Keck Hospital of USC and 60-licensed bed USC Norris Cancer Hospital; and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, a 158-licensed bed community hospital. It also includes more than 40 outpatient facilities, some at affiliated hospitals, in Los Angeles, Orange, Kern, Tulare and Ventura counties.

In 2016, U.S. News & World Report ranked Keck Medical Center of USC among the Top 10 hospitals in the state and among the Top 50 hospitals in the United States in seven specialties: ophthalmology, urology, cancer, geriatrics, orthopedic surgery, nephrology and cardiology and heart surgery.

Radiology Tech (Union) - Float Pool - FT 8 Hour Days

Ambulatory Clinic - Administration Hospital Beverly Hills, California

Minimum Education:

  • High School graduate; graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained.
  • Certified Medical Assistant

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:

  • Previous clinic experience desired

Required License/Certification:

  • X-Ray Tech Chest Extremities and Torso-Skeletal to include Digital Radiography, BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association. 
  • Current ARRT preferred. Certified Medical Assistant

As an integral of the Ambulatory Care Services Float Team, the Radiologic Technologist provides smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation by performing diagnostic radiology procedures in a variety of clinic settings. Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English proficiently. Must be comfortable with computers and medical terminology. In depth knowledge of all insurance types, including government health programs.

Provides assistance to practitioners in delivering health care services including routine, emergency, and specialty encounters. Escorts patients to exam rooms, obtains and appropriately records patient vital signs/medication list, monitors patient flow, assists physicians with minor clinical procedures, performs EKGs, and prepares patient chart with pertinent medical information as directed by physician. Schedules diagnostic tests and surgeries as ordered by the physician as needed. Performs various administrative duties, including answering phone patient calls, returning phone calls, receiving and sorting in-coming faxes, obtaining prior authorizations. Ensures patient’s right to privacy, safety, and confidentiality is maintained. Maintains a safe environment in accordance with standards, policies, and safety regulations. Ensures compliance with infection control policies. Must be highly flexible, enthusiastic, have a proactive approach, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, work efficiently under pressure and work efficiently in a team environment.

Must be willing to travel throughout the Keck Medicine of USC Community (on campus, satellite practices to cover practice integrations, vacations, illnesses, holidays, and leave of absences. Hours may vary depending on assignments.
