The Lawrence J. Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine of USC is a personal, concierge oncology clinic providing individualized, high quality care to a low volume of patients. We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse Lead to join our team!
At The Lawrence J. Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine of USC, the most cutting-edge cancer treatment options are offered to patients with a cancer diagnosis by some of the nation’s utmost respected, recognized and knowledge-able doctors in the field of medical oncology. The Ellison Institute is also comprised of the USC Center for Applied Molecular Medicine, which allows current molecular technologies to help guide care for patients with cancer.
Specific responsibilities include:
Individual will be responsible for delivering nursing care to adult and geriatric oncology patients in an ambulatory setting. The individual will provide skilled nursing care to patients receiving chemotherapy, intravenous infusions and investigational drugs. Job responsibilities include: venipuncture, screening tests, health/patient education, immunization administration, patient assessment, administration of chemotherapeutic agents, venipuncture, vascular access device management, skill with infusion pumps, patient education and participation in research.
- Current California RN license & CPR certified
- Current knowledge of Oncology Practice
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate required
- 2 years oncology experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting
- Excellent IV skills
- Competency in vascular access device management
- OCN certification preferred
Extreme attention to detail. Strong oral and written communication skills. Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to function on a team. Good organizational skills. Basic proficiency in computer-based medical recordretrieval (Cerner preferred).
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Experience: 2 years oncology experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting, with current California RN License & CPR certified, ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate required
Preferred Field of Expertise: Nursing, with specialization in Oncology
Posting Salary Range: $40/hr - $60/hr
Percentage of Time: 100%
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 2 years
Minimum Field of Expertise: Licensed RN with clinical or administrative experience in hospital or ambulatory care
