Keck Medicine of USC includes the Keck School of Medicine of USC, the region’s first medical school; the renowned USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the first comprehensive cancer centers established by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States; the USC Care Medical Group, a medical faculty practice; the Keck Medical Center of USC, which includes two acute care hospitals: 401-licensed bed Keck Hospital of USC and 60-licensed bed USC Norris Cancer Hospital; and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, a 158-licensed bed community hospital. The Unit Supervisor is the first line manager and leader responsible for the day-to-day oversight of, and efficient, smooth unit operations. This individual supports the Chief Nursing Officer and department manager and director in providing oversight for and the delivery of safe, high quality patient care; development of staff team; quality improvement and growth of unit services; leadership in planning and collaboration with co-workers and other departments; management of efficient services with meaningful and valuable outcomes. The Unit Supervisor is a proven leader in both clinical and operational areas with an emphasis on the clinical environment. Practices in compliance with regulatory requirements including CMS Conditions of Participation, Title 22, CDPH regulations, DNV-GL/NIAHO standards, etc.
Graduation from Registered Nurse Program
BSN desired. If not upon hire, will obtain within 3 years of hire
Completion of unit supervisor or management training program
Minimum two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse in an acute Perioperative unit preferred.
Previous experience on Post Anesthesia, Medical-Surgical, and Endoscopy patient care units preferred.
6 months relief Unit Supervisor experience
California Registered Nurse License
Certification in clinical specialty or management desired or within 1 year of hire.
Current certification in Operating Room Nursing (C.N.O.R.) preferred.
Membership with Association of Operating Room Nursing (A.O.R.N.) preferred.
Current BCLS certification via AHA.
Current ACLS certification via AHA.
