Account Executive - Advertising and Marketing

Student Engagement and Trojan Events Los Angeles, California

The Division of Student Affairs at the University of Southern California is conducting a search for an Account Executive for their Advertising and Marketing Department. This position will support the effort to secure advertising and sponsorship opportunities as within the Student Engagement cluster in Student Affairs. The position reports directly to the Advertising and Marketing Manager.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Identify, research and prospect for future advertising and marketing partners.
  • Work closely with Advertising and Marketing Manager to manage client pipeline.
  • Attend meetings with potential new sponsors where appropriate.
  • Act as the client’s day to day contact, providing regular reporting and updates as required.
  • Work with Advertising and Marketing Manager to advise existing clients on how to increase their participation.
  • Participate in pitch and new business activity as required.
  • Make initial outreach to set up in person appointments or conference calls for Manager.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to access inventory and be liaison between departments.
  • Develop proposals with the direction of Advertising and Marketing Manager.
  • Responsible for assuring that all creative deliverables are provided from advertisers/sponsors and are processed internally.
  • Develop recaps for advertising campaigns and or sponsorships to provide proof of performance.
  • Provide Manager with regular updates on sales activity and pipelines
  • Meet and then surpass revenue benchmarks.
  • Support Advertising and Marketing Manager in duties, as requested.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of sponsorship experience within the sports/entertainment industry
  • Previous sales/marketing experience within Higher Education
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Proven experience in finding creative means to cultivate new business opportunities

Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's degree
- Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education

Minimum Experience:
- 2 years

Minimum Field of Expertise:
- Marketing, publications, public relations, business administration, communication, advertising or related field experience
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
