Adjunct Assistant Professor - School Leadership Academy

USC Rossier School of Education is seeking an Adjunct Assistant Professor to teach for the Office of Professional Development for Summer 2017.  

EDUC 538x – Entrepreneurial School Leadership 


As an instructor for Summer 2017, EDUC 538x – Entrepreneurial School Leadership, you will provide the educational expertise on the knowledge and skills required to lead schools with an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset, to work with internal and external stakeholders, to create opportunities for sustainable partnerships, and to secure alternative funding sources in order to improve student achievement.


You will instruct in an online session for a period of eight (8) weeks in Summer 2017, each for two hours (day of the week to be determined) using the USC Rossier Office for Professional Development online platform. In addition to teaching, your responsibilities include: assign course assignments, maintain regular communication with students, complete numerical grade points for each assignment and assign a final grade for the course. You will report to the program administrator and faculty advisor for School Leadership Academy.

This class will be held between the weeks of June 12-July 31 (8 consecutive weeks)

Knowledge and Skills

In addition to being strong in entrepreneurship at the school site level, applicants must have successful experience in school leadership, identifying and working with stakeholders, forming community partnerships, and understanding grant opportunities.

Applicants must also be skilled in using a Learning Management System and teaching online. Applicants will need access to their own computer with Internet, microphone, and camera for all online sessions. Experience in teaching online using Adobe Connect is a plus.

Experience and Credentials

Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a public school site and district leader, acting as principal and/or superintendent. They must also have experience teaching. They must also hold a California Clear Administrative Credential, in addition to holding a Clear Credential for Teaching.

Minimum Education: EdD or PhD

Minimum Experience: 5 years as a public school site and district leader, acting as principal and/or superintendent.
