University of Southern California Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work

The University of Southern California has established a Department of Nursing in affiliation with its renowned Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. Working within a growing, interdisciplinary institution, faculty members have the opportunity to teach in a creative graduate nursing program.

The Department of Nursing invites applications for Non-Tenure Adjunct teaching faculty positions for instruction. We seek creative candidates who demonstrate leadership in design, implementation, and evaluation, and are knowledgeable about graduate advanced practice nursing education and innovative teaching methods. The program will be offered online with some on-campus intensives for simulations and skills assessments.

The online environment features small, video enabled seminars that promote faculty-student dialogue. We are looking for candidates who can work well in a team environment, work collaboratively with inter-professional leadership, and who value knowledge translation to advance clinical care and health policy change. Promoting the health of diverse populations and managing complex care needs of vulnerable populations are priorities.

Major responsibilities include:
1. Working with the MSN-FNP Program Director to implement the curriculum for the MSN-FNP program
2. Teaching both theory and clinically-focused courses

Additional Information:
Responsibilities and Estimated Appropriations (dependent on percentage of work effort for position):
1. Course Training and Teaching
2. Clinical Practice: to maintain certification as a nurse practitioner, or other advanced practice nurse
3. Evaluating student performance in inter-professional clinical learning experiences
4. Retaining a diverse FNP student cohort
5. Advancing the advanced practice nursing role by collaborating with other faculty members on scholarly activities
6. Participating in School and Department of Nursing meetings and committees and engagement in professional organizations
