Adjunct Faculty of Social Work - Field Education

The Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work at the University of Southern California invites applications for adjunct non-tenure track field faculty positions to teach and serve as field liaisons for students at the University Park Campus (UPC) for the Master of Social Work degree. Applicants with expertise in the areas of teaching/training, field instruction, supervision and experience working with diverse populations are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants must demonstrate teaching skills in the design, implementation and evaluation of a learner-centered curriculum and pedagogy that enables students to obtain knowledge, values and skills relevant for evidence-based social work practice to address complex social problems.


Faculty will teach seminar sessions with supporting access to the course syllabus, written texts and other supportive course materials. Course facilitation and availability to students for office appointments are essential. Field faculty develop and deliver field education curricula in the classroom and in agency settings, and help students integrate the application of research, theory and policy to practice. Field faculty also serve as liaisons to students in field placements and make at least one agency visit per student each semester. Additionally, the role of field advisor is a critical element in this teaching assignment, requires monitoring and documenting the overall field performance of students in the MSW program.
