Adjunct Instructor, Advertising Concepting, Strategy and Creative Development II

Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism Faculty Los Angeles, California

The Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California seeks a highly qualified adjunct instructor to teach PR 599: Advertising Concept, Strategy and Creative Development II.

This course examines the interplay of strategy and creative in the development and execution of idea-led advertising and campaigns. The objective of the course is to provide an advanced overview of the techniques used to discover insights that lead to competitive positioning in the marketplace and to creating big creative ideas. This is a lab class where the instructor will assign numerous concept assignments in print, broadcast, OOH and online advertisements. Successful candidates must be able to provide insights into the role of the creative director, copywriter, art director and client interface.

Requirements for consideration include a B.A., B.S., M.S., or an M.A. degree in a related field. Previous teaching experience is desirable. For some courses, outstanding professional experience may be substituted for academic credentials. Applicants should have a primary career elsewhere.
