The Annenberg School of Journalism at the University of Southern California seeks a highly qualified adjunct instructor to teach PR 209 Effective Writing for Public Relations. In this hands-on lab-style course, students are introduced to the unique writing requirements of social, online, broadcast, print and other media in public relations/strategic communication; emphasis on judgment, context, proper grammar and audience understanding.
Experience in agency, corporate, non-profit or government PR is preferred but journalists also will be considered. Because of the lockstep nature of our curriculum, willingness to adhere to the established class curriculum is required.
Requirements for consideration include a B.A., B.S., M.S., or an M.A. degree in a related field. Previous teaching experience is desirable. For some courses, outstanding professional experience may be substituted for academic credentials.
