Adjunct Instructor in Data Trends for Urban Planning

USC Price School of Public Policy

The USC Sol Price School of Public Policy invites applicants for an adjunct position. The candidate will be able to teach graduate level courses with content focused on the proliferation of data sources and how to find relevant data, the relationship between new information technologies and urban planning and development, and the roles that geo-locational data, social media, and data representation and visualization can play in planning and development problems. The successful candidate should possess an advanced degree in a related field (such as MPL, MRED, MARCH, MLARCH, MPA, MPP, MBA, PhD).  Candidate must also have significant professional experience in planning or a related field.  Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience and excellent teaching evaluations.

The position is not restricted geographically and can be filled by a candidate with broadband internet access.  Adjunct instructor responsibilities include delivery of course content, scheduling office hours and being accessible to students as appropriate, and grading. Each instructor is expected to provide students with a syllabus outlining the course goals, schedule and all requirements for the course under the direction of the Department Chair.
