Adjunct Lecturer of Communication – Information Management
Apply Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism Faculty Los Angeles, CaliforniaThe Master of Communication Management (MCM) program in the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California seeks a qualified Adjunct Lecturer to supplement instruction offered by our full-time faculty, specifically to teach CMGT 507: Information Management. This course focuses on data analysis and visualization, aiming to help graduate students make sense of data, interpret analytical results, and hone their data-based digital storytelling skills for effective communication. Topics include basics of quantitative research, AI, analytics tools and platforms, and data visualization.
Candidates must have substantial industry experience in analytics, marketing communication, and/or data science. Teaching experience in analytics, marketing communication, strategic and organizational communication, other fields of applied communication is highly desired.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Master in Communication, Marketing, Business Management, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields.
Minimum Experience: 10 years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Education: A Master or PhD in Communication, Marketing, Business Management, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields.
Preferred Experience: Teaching experience in data analytics, marketing communication, strategic and organizational communication, other fields of applied communication. Demonstrated ability to coach and help students achieve their academic and professional goals. Work experience in related positions at national or global agencies or Fortune-500 tier companies.
USC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
The hourly range for this position is $$37.88 - $46.97.
