Assistant Director of Business Partnerships

The USC Alumni Association (USCAA) – within the Division of University Advancement – supports the overall advancement of USC by engaging alumni, building a culture of philanthropy among the Trojan Family, and being the representative voice for all USC alumni.  With more than 425,000 members worldwide, USCAA provides benefits, services and opportunities to connect Trojans to one another and the University through signature events and programs including reunions, industry networks, school-based and regional groups, affinity networks and multicultural alumni associations.

USCAA is seeking an experienced, collaborative and creative professional for the position of Assistant Director, Business Partnerships. Reporting to Director of Business Partnerships, incumbent of this position will be responsible for the following:

  • Assists with the development and implementation of various business partnership programs that provide valued benefits and services to diverse segments of the USC alumni population, while providing significant revenue to the Alumni Association.
  • Assists with industry research, lead generation and the partner activation process; manages fulfillment and execution of business partnership agreements and member services programs.
  • Assists in administering department marketing calendar, as assigned. Monitors schedules, production and distribution arrangements and other details to ensure timely completion and quality control of marketing activities and publications.
  • Collects and analyzes data related to the performance of partnership and member services programs and generates reports and recommendation to aid management with decision-making.  Implements program modifications as necessary in order to ensure achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates across USCAA programs to integrate partnership programs with member service and other outreach programs.  Participates in development of marketing and sales goals, objectives, plans and strategies. Assists in determining target markets.
  • Promotes awareness of department services and/or products within the University community and/or public via methods such as direct mail, telemarketing, advertising publicity, community relations, promotional activities, special events, etc.
  • Assists in developing, producing, and distributing publications and other promotional materials for department marketing and public relations purposes.  Coordinates use of surveys and other market research instruments to collect appropriate information, as assigned.
  • Assisting in researching and preparing budget proposals for marketing purposes, as assigned.  Assists in designing and producing marketing reports for department and/or University use.
  • Negotiates licenses and/or vendor contracts, as assigned.  Coordinates appropriate use of University and/or department logos emblems and indicia.
  • Supervises student workers and works collaboratively across different teams within the USC Alumni Association and other university stakeholders to accomplish revenue goals assigned.
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate network of professional contacts. Maintains currency with professional organizations and publications. Attends and participates in meetings, conferences.  Represents University and/or USC Alumni Association as assigned or appropriate.
