Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology (Clinician Educator)

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California is recruiting one full-time board-certified Radiation Oncologist with several years’ clinical experience at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. It is a plus for candidates who hold a current valid California medical license, and active CDPH fluoroscopy user’s certificate.  The successful candidate will receive academic appointment at a level appropriate to training and experience from the Keck School of Medicine.

The Department is affiliated with the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center since 1973 when it was named as one of the first eight comprehensive cancer centers in the United States.

The program is an affiliate member of the NRG Oncology cooperative group, and also participates in clinical trials sponsored by the South West Oncology Group (SWOG). The Department is looking to recruit a motivated and flexibly minded candidate interested in pursuing a blended academic/community practice career in radiation oncology with expertise in providing brachytherapy services. This position will provide coverage spanning our teaching hospital and all clinic satellites (4 satellites and growing) located throughout Southern California.

The Department of Radiation Oncology in LAC+USC Medical Center program evaluates approximately 1,000 new patients annually. There is an ACGME accredited residency training program. The Department at the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center is well equipped with two state-of the art Varian Truebeam linear accelerators, Varian Trilogy.  Elekta Gamma knife Perfexion for intracranial radiosurgery, as well as GYN intracavitary and interstitial, prostate interstitial HDR-based brachytherapy and episcleral I-125 plaque brachytherapy are routinely performed.

Preferred Education:           Graduate of a United States ACGME accredited 4-yr residency program in Radiation Oncology
