Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery Part-Time - CHLA

The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Orthopaedics in the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery, are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Assistant Professor

The Children’s Orthopaedic Center at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is seeking a part-time orthopaedist with Fellowship-training in Hand Surgery and additional training in the care of children with upper extremity orthopaedic conditions to join 9 other full-time pediatric orthopaedic surgeons. This additional training should include experience in the evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents with upper extremity trauma, infantile brachial plexus injury, cerebral palsy, and congenital hand and upper extremity anomalies.  Training and skill in microsurgery is desired.

The primary responsibility of this individual would involve the orthopaedic care of children and adolescents with upper extremity problems but would include administrative responsibilities related to the Hand Clinic within the Children’s Orthopaedic Center.

This position includes a faculty appointment in the Department of Orthopaedics at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California.  Participation in teaching of medical students and orthopaedic residents, as well as clinical research, is expected.  A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered.

Applicants must have completed an accredited orthopedic surgery program and must be Board-eligible.  A valid California medical license and a California fluoroscopy license are required.

The primary practice location is at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, which is the largest and most comprehensive pediatric hospital in the Los Angeles area and includes a Level I pediatric trauma center.  However, travel to other off-site Centers.   A state-of-the-art Motion Analysis Laboratory is present within the Orthopaedic Center, which also provides support for clinical research.
