Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Part-TIme)-CHLA

The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Critical Care Medicine, are actively seeking a part-time faculty member for the position of Assistant Professor to perform Neuropsychological Assessments for children who have recovered from Critical Illness.

This position will involve performing a battery of Neuropsychological Assessments on children who range in age from 1 month to 21 years.  Applicants must be a trained pediatric clinical neuropsychologist, with experience administering a variety of neuropsychological tests to children.  Applicants should hold a PhD in Neuropsychology or another related field.  This position is primarily meant to support a clinical research study focused on long-term follow up of children with Pediatric Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome.  On average, the faculty member will devote approximately 1 day per week to performing these assessments and preparing written reports, with an average of 1-2 assessments performed per week.   This amounts to 0.2 FTE in time commitment. The faculty member will be assisted by clinical research coordinators who will schedule appointments, help administer assessments, score assessments, and distribute written reports to the family members.  The faculty member is encouraged to help train research coordinators in the tasks required to perform these assessments and supervise them as needed.   The faculty member will be collaborating with several other faculty members in ACCM and other departments on this and other related research projects.
