Community Engagement(CE) Program Manager

Join our Team as the Community Engagement (CE) Program Manager!

The Community Engagement (CE) Program Manager will be responsible for providing oversight to the CE team, developing project plans, ensuring that evaluation and metrics are accurately collected and reported and providing general oversight on CE initiatives (e.g., Research Ambassadors, Our Community Our Health).  The position will also contribute to dissemination materials such as reports, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and training materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • 40% Manages the delivery of services to targeted program participants or beneficiaries. Sets and communicates program priorities and performance standards and assesses operations using these criteria. Plans and conducts quality assurance reviews and recommends changes as appropriate. Develops and maintains automated or manual systems and procedures to facilitate program operations.
  • 20% Manages staff assigned to program. Recommends organizational structure, reporting relationships and staffing needs based on program goals. Makes hiring, promotional and salary decisions in accordance with university policy. Provides performance appraisals for staff and determines need for disciplinary action.
  • 20% Serves as a key resource for program information. Resolves problems or questions referred by program staff, senior university administrators, or professionals outside the university
  • 20% Stays informed of developments in field. Reads pertinent literature, attends 2 meetings and participates in professional associations as appropriate. Establishes and maintains an active network of professional contacts.

Successful candidates must have the following qualifications:

  • Excellent Communication Skills (Written and Oral)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a Plus
  • Experience with Community Organizing or Research
  • Experience with Problem Identification and Resolution
  • Project Management Experience
  • Analysis Experience
  • Master's in Public Health, Policy, or similar

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education

Minimum Experience: 3 years

Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related professional and supervisory experience in area of program specialization
