Computer Services Consultant (Fixed Term)

USC Bovard College is seeking a Computer Services Consultant to assist in providing ongoing computer hardware and software support for our online graduate degree programs. This role requires excellent communication skills, demonstrated analytical skills, excellent organization skills, attention to detail and knowledge of IT systems and procedures. Experience supporting Windows and Mac operating systems as well as testing software applications and processes is desired. Additionally, the successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to problem solve, think critically, and be able to adjust to a rapidly changing environment.

Job Accountabilities

  • Provide ongoing first-level helpdesk support and ticket triage, including problem troubleshooting, customer support, ticket creation, management and follow-up

  • Assist in computer configuration and imaging

  • Manage and maintain hardware procurement, shipping and tracking

  • Quality control and testing of business processes and software developed by department

  • Identify, document, and maintain process and software documentation

  • Assist with system patching and update process

  • Create and maintain inventories

  • Assist director with special projects and administrative tasks, as needed.

Experience:

  • Strong technical understanding, troubleshooting skills, and proven ability to use the tools at hand to research and resolve problems

  • Provide a high level of customer service while supporting office-based and remote staff

  • Understand and effectively discuss services and software provided by Bovard College and our central IT group (ITS)

  • Document and update technology related instructions/procedures/knowledge articles as required

  • Support includes, but is not limited to, PCs, Macs, Smartphones, Zoom, Office 365, Salesforce, and Active Directory

  • Understanding of IP networks and IP addressing

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce

Required software knowledge: Microsoft Office, Windows, Mac

Desired software knowledge: Salesforce, Tableau, SQL, HTML


Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 1 year, Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience Minimum Field of Expertise: Familiarity with one or more operating systems.
