Lecturer - Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacology

The University of Southern California (USC) School of Pharmacy Department of Pharmacology & Pharmaceutical Sciences ( invites applications for the position of Lecturer in the areas of medicinal chemistry and pharmacology.

This will be a full-time, non-tenure track, calendar-year position. Candidates with teaching experience in the medicinal chemistry of therapeutic agents are of particular interest. Candidates should have a doctoral degree in chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline. The successful candidate will teach courses in the professional (Doctor of Pharmacy) program, in the Ph.D. and Masters programs, and potentially in the new Pharmacology and Drug Development major within the undergraduate program. This teaching will include a strong element of individual and group work with students. Therefore, the position will require excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. The School of Pharmacy offers a competitive salary and benefits package to the appropriate candidate. The successful candidate will be eligible for promotion within the new Teaching track as designated by the university, with the potential for continuing appointment. The USC School of Pharmacy pioneered the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree program and is committed to the education of outstanding future pharmacists. Grounding within the basic sciences is a rudimentary part of the foundation provided for future clinicians and scientists trained at the USC School of Pharmacy. Minimum Education: Doctoral degree in chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related discipline.
Minimum Experience and Expertise: Require excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and demonstrated strength in teaching.
