Maintenance Technician, Entry

The USC department of Facilities Management Services (FMS) – Operations Zones- is seeking a Maintenance Technician -Entry to join its team.

The Maintenance Technician-Entry responsible for Performing a variety of maintenance tasks until proficiency is attained in all designated trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, carpentry, locksmith, or painting independently or as part of a team, as assigned. Participates in the Maintenance Pay for Knowledge and Skills Program, including on the job training to learn and/or perform specialized skills found at Level 1.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Repairs and/or replaces equipment and equipment components.
  • Uses hand held and power tools and equipment in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Prepares reports and/or maintenance records, as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Currently working in a support positon at USC for at least one year
  • General knowledge of all UPC and/or HSC campus buildings

The work schedule for this position is Monday- Friday 6:30 am-3:00 pm; however, work schedule may change at any time to accommodate business needs.

Minimum Education: Less than high school
Minimum Experience: 0 - 6 months
Minimum Field of Expertise: Basic knowledge of most trade tools. General knowledge of most of standard safety practices and equipment.
