Keck Medicine of USC

Keck Medicine of USC includes the Keck School of Medicine of USC, the region’s first medical school; the renowned USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the first comprehensive cancer centers established by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States; the USC Care Medical Group, a medical faculty practice; the Keck Medical Center of USC, which includes two acute care hospitals: 401-licensed bed Keck Hospital of USC and 60-licensed bed USC Norris Cancer Hospital; and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, a 158-licensed bed community hospital. It also includes more than 40 outpatient facilities, some at affiliated hospitals, in Los Angeles, Orange, Kern, Tulare and Ventura counties.

In 2016, U.S. News & World Report ranked Keck Medical Center of USC among the Top 10 hospitals in the state and among the Top 50 hospitals in the United States in seven specialties: ophthalmology, urology, cancer, geriatrics, orthopedic surgery, nephrology and cardiology and heart surgery.

Ensures the facility’s readiness for accreditation by The Joint Commission, Department of Health Services, or any other external accrediting bodies. Demonstrates problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills: maintains a recognized area of expertise in regulatory standards and applies it in practice, teaching and consultation. This position is responsible for organization-wide survey readiness including but not limited to any areas under the hospital license. Manager possesses advanced skills in assessment and application of regulatory standards applicable to the service line or hospital location Advanced knowledge in constructing action plans and follow up for areas identified as opportunities to improve or from recommendations for improvement from regulatory agencies.
Minimum Education:
Baccalaureate degree in nursing or a related field.
Prefer Masters Prepared candidate

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
Five years or more in an acute care setting preferred. Experienced at least one facility-wide accreditation survey within the last three years. Management experience. Working knowledge of Joint Commission, DHS, and Accreditation requirements. Detail oriented and aware of Improvement\ impact of data quality. At least 2 years experience in accreditation and licensing.

Required License/Certification:
HACP certification at hire or within 12 months of employment. If a registered nurse, must have current registered nurse license
Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
