The Manager, Organizational Change Management leads the organizational change management portfolio and associated resources to enable change throughout the University in coordination with the division’s (University HR, Office of Equity, Equal Opportunity, and Title IX, and Office of Culture, Ethics, and Compliance) strategic initiatives. This role coordinates change activities across the University and the division and provides understanding of benefits and risks. The Manager of Organizational Change Management will guide the team to establish a standard change management methodology encompassing processes, activities, tools, KPIs, and reporting strategies. This role will execute USC’s vision while championing USC’s culture and values.
The candidate for the position of Manager, Organizational Change Management must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, psychology, communications, or another related field.
- Seven or more years of experience in one or more of the following fields: human resources or talent management.
- One or more years of experience leading teams in a management or leadership role.
- Knowledge of change management models and practices needed to quickly gain credibility within the division and University-wide.
- Experience working on the successful delivery of change management in the disciplines of change management methodology, job or role design, stakeholder engagement, sponsorship alignment, communication planning, training or performance support and organizational readiness.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, proven track record of building strong collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders.

- Advanced degree in business, psychology, communications, or another related field.
- Ten or more years of experience in one or more of the following fields: in higher education or learning and development.
- Four or more years of experience leading teams in a management or leadership role.
- Experience working in a Center of Excellence (i.e., Talent Management, Organizational Development, Learning & Development).
- Experience in management consulting or human capital consulting.
- Demonstrated experience building and managing exceptional teams and providing consistent feedback to achieve results in line with strategic goals.
- Track record of positive influence of department culture during change through trust-building.
- Ability to train staff on emerging industry trends and ensure quality baseline of department knowledge.

The candidate for the position of Manager, Organizational Change Management will be responsible for:
- Managing and guiding the OCM team members to develop appropriate organizational change management strategies for large, significant and complex initiatives. Partnering with leadership to confirm OCM resourcing needs and leading sourcing efforts accordingly. Managing the development of team members by helping them set and achieve goals for career growth.
- Maintaining strong cross-functional relationships to build a deep understanding of the division, the University, and organizational culture. Partnering across the University to provide thought leadership and change management guidance that enables organizational readiness and execution towards sustained transformational change.
- Cultivating strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders to ensure consistent, reliable service is delivered to a range of University stakeholders. Collaborating with division leadership to develop and manage a holistic strategy for delivering quality service. Driving organizational change through hosting various interactive channels such as Town Halls, survey tools, and focus groups.
- Collaborating with the division to ensure that change messaging is appropriately communicated to the organization. Monitoring and reporting regularly on change efforts and progress via common project management activities such as status reporting. Maintaining open lines of communication with the division and other University stakeholders.
- Maintaining currency with industry standards, best practices, and trends in higher education. Leading effort to make continual improvements to increase the effectiveness of change activities. Encouraging OCM team to socialize day-to-day observations to catalyze process improvements.
