Part Time Faculty Position in Graduate Landscape Architecture Studio

School of Arch - Staff Los Angeles, California

The USC School of Architecture is seeking qualified lecturers for design studio courses in the discipline of Landscape Architecture. 

Studio instruction and studio culture are the foundation of our design research program. Part time instructors oversee sections of approximately 12 students teaching the process of design at multiple scales and in a range of environments.  Students integrate coursework in ecology, topographic design, media and other related topics in their studio projects. Instructors may be teaching individual sections or be responsible for one section of a multi part group with other instructors/coordinator.  Over the semester instructors will be responsible for coordination of site visits, presentations, lectures and other studio activities. Instructors will be responsible for providing regular individual critiques and  periodic group reviews with invited juries.

Candidates must have at least one professional degree in Landscape Architecture, preferably a Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) or PhD.  Prior teaching experience is desirable. Candidates work in teaching, professional work or research should illustrate strong creative work in design, and achievement in the field.  

This is a semester long appointment beginning in August 2018 or January 2019.  Positions are open in both the fall 2018 and spring 2019 semesters.
