The Information Technology Program (http://itp.usc.edu) in the USC Viterbi School of Engineering (htto://viterbi.usc.edu) seeks outstanding candidates for part-time, teaching track (non-tenure) faculty positions to teach undergraduate courses in the field of Information Technology.
We are seeking candidates who are committed to excellence in teaching and willing to contribute to engagement with and inclusion of students from a wide range of disciplines and cultural backgrounds. The Information Technology Program (ITP) is an academic unit in the USC Viterbi School of Engineering. Its 17 full-time and 25+ part-time teaching faculty have built a collaborative community of faculty who are passionate about teaching and working with students. ITP provides engineering education to thousands of students from many majors, helping to guide students towards technical interests and career paths. - ITP 115 - Programming in Python: Introduction to programming and computational thinking using Python. This course targets non-CS and non-engineering majors and focuses on the practical application of programming concepts.
- ITP 125 - From Hackers to CEOs: An Introduction to Information Security. Introductory course in computer security. Fundamentals of information security management. Threats to information integrity. Ethical hacking concerns and practice. Policies and Procedures.
- ITP 168 - Introduction to MATLAB: Fundamentals of MATLAB: a high-performance numeric computation and visualization environment. Overview of linear algebra and matrix manipulation; using 2-D and 3-D plotting routines; programming in MATLAB; basic numerical analysis.
- ITP 425 - Web Application Security: Web application security techniques. eCommerce vulnerabilities. Online fraud. Solutions to spam and identity theft.
- ITP 491 - Level Design and Development for Video Games: Theories and practices of defining, prototyping, testing, and refining a video game level, development of game level documents, and the tools for managing the development process.
Master's degree or equivalent in a STEM-related or industry-related field
Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in a STEM-related or industry-related field
Two years of relevant industry and/or teaching experience
Five years of industry and/or teaching experience in relevant field

- Demonstrated proficiency in web application security, including the standards set by OWASP or other leading organizations
- Industry experience, minimum 2 years
- Listed in credits of at least one released game
- Professional level design experience using Unity
