The Department of Family Medicine at Keck Medicine of USC is seeking to hire a Clinical Assistant Professor (Clinician Educator) full-time Faculty physician to serve our clinic in Arcadia, California.

Who we are:

Keck Medicine of USC is a rapidly growing healthcare system, with Family Medicine serving as a major component of primary care services. The department is focused on providing patient-centered preventative care and overall wellbeing. Our excellence in geriatric health care has earned us national recognition from U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals 2018-2019.

We have an energetic and visionary Chair, also serving as the Associate Dean of Primary Care, who is committed to providing excellent primary care by expanding our presence throughout the greater Los Angeles community. Some of these initiatives include:

  • Building a residency program focused on training a diverse, culturally-congruent healthcare workforce to be leaders in building innovative, evidence-based interventions that utilize cutting-edge technologies to deliver patient-centered care focused on eliminating health care disparities.
  • Growth of our Street Medicine program as a unique healthcare outreach to the unsheltered residents of Los Angeles county
  • Growing primary care services in Keck multi-specialty practice locations, as well as strategically building relationships with community providers.

Our providers are allotted time to develop their teaching and research interests, with resources available to foster these professional growth areas.

  • Research: We are currently ranked #17 nationally among Family Medicine Departments across the country in NIH funding.
  • Teaching: Various opportunities such as precepting medical and PA students or lectures to first and second year medical students.

Ideal candidate:

The ideal candidate will take pride in providing exceptional patient care. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to caring for the whole patient across the lifespan and to serve as the patient’s advocate in an increasingly complex health care system.


  • Demonstrated excellence in working collaboratively with multi-specialty providers, interdisciplinary treatment teams and community partners
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited Family Medicine residency program
  • Current California medical license and DEA -or- eligible for California licensure
  • Eligibility for appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher
  • Three verbal and written recommendations/references
  • Experience growing and maintaining a diverse patient panel

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated excellence as an educator
  • Demonstrated proficiency with procedures, pediatrics and women’s health
  • Mandarin and/or Cantonese speaking preferred
  • Strong team player, who values collaboration and communication

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct primary care medical services
  • Participate in the 24-hour call schedule and provide appropriate medical triage according to established protocols
  • Participate in quality assurance and utilization review activities as assigned
