Physician Clinical

Psychiatry & the Behavioral Sciences Los Angeles, California

The Department of Psychiatry & the Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Physician Clinical (staff) to join it's team.

We are seeking a staff psychiatrist to work nights and/or weekends on our Psychiatric Inpatient Service at Augustus F. Hawkins Mental Health Center and/or our Psychiatric Emergency Service at the LAC+USC Medical Center. Shifts are Monday-Friday 7pm-7am, and Saturday -Sunday 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am.

The psychiatrist will perform, assess and evaluate patients. With a variety of psychiatric conditions and devise a diagnostic and treatment plan to address patients' medical needs.

Minimum Education: M.D.

Minimum Experience: 1 year

Minimum Field of Expertise: Current valid license/certification to practice medicine in the state of California, DEA certificate, and CPR certification. Maintains PALS and ACLS certification, if necessary. Board certified with current certificate in specialty area. Ability to provide diagnostic treatment and counseling services. Ability to analyze situations and take effective action. Excellent interpersonal skills in order to interact with supervisors, physicians, nurses, other staff, students, patients and their families, etc. Possess a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
