Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate

Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine Department Los Angeles, California

USC's KSOM Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine is seeking a highly motivated full-time Postdoc Scholar Research Associate for Dr. Andrew McMahon’s Lab in collaboration with the laboratory of Dr. Andrew D. Smith (Dornsife College, USC).  We would like to recruit a candidate to work in the area of Computational Biology, focusing on computational approaches for single cell epigenomics. Our collaborative efforts are generating large-scale data sets using cutting-edge single-cell technologies focused on development, injury, repair and regeneration of the mammalian kidney. These data hold the key to impactful discoveries about gene regulation during human organogenesis that will facilitate efforts to build and repair kidney tissues, and the opportunity to develop novel and creative analytic approaches with large, high-quality, curated datasets. The successful candidate will conduct large scale data analysis for single-cell epigenomics, particularly single cell variations of ATAC-seq integrated with single-cell transcriptomics. The successful candidate will also design new algorithms and statistical methods for analyzing large-scale data sets, when existing methods are not suitable for the required data analyses.
