Professor and Chair of the Peter Stark Producing Program

School of Cinematic Arts Faculty Los Angeles, California

The Peter Stark Producing Program in the USC School of Cinematic Arts is seeking a full-time faculty chair. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the highly selective graduate-only, two-year MFA program, including three staff persons, and 50 graduate students. The School is looking for an experienced and successful producer and someone who is deeply familiar with the Stark Producing Program or a similar program. Demonstrated excellence as a producer, experience mentoring and or teaching junior producers, and a deep commitment to the academic mission, as well as to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment are a necessity. Successful candidate would be expected to hold tenure as full professor in the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

USC School of Cinematic Arts supports diversity and inclusion initiatives in multiple aspects of the student experience. We encourage all applicants to address the following items in their cover letter: a statement of teaching philosophy and how they will include diverse perspectives in the classroom, including real-world examples, case studies, and media.

Minimum Education:  BA degree

Minimum Experience:

  • 10 years professional experience as a creative producer of film, television, and games
  • Demonstrated teaching experience, ideally at the college level, but inclusive of professional and community seminars, workshops, and mentorships

Preferred Education:  MFA degree

Preferred Experience:  20 years professional experience as a creative producer of film, television, and games
