Program Specialist

Department of Pathology Los Angeles, California

USC’s Keck School of Medicine, Department of Pathology is seeking a Program Specialist for the NIAAA-funded Southern California Research Center for ALPD and Cirrhosis to assume the following essential responsibilities.  Experience in these responsibilities is a requirement.

Manages center's educational and dissemination programs via coordination of a center-supported graduate course, a summer research fellowship program, medical student research semester program, community seminars, annual symposium, and international symposia; management of center's website (annual updating); and publication of center's newsletter.

Serves as a liaison to center members and/or other investigators on all matters relating to the above activities; Provides and/or coordinates the provision of technical guidance, consultation, related support to faculty, staff, students, researchers, and external contacts.

Assists with development of program goals and objectives within the framework of approved contract, grant, institutional and departmental policies; identifies opportunities to enhance program operations in order to achieve greater efficiencies and effectiveness, while fulfilling all program objectives.

Support the center director’s fund-raising efforts for center’s educational and dissemination programs from private and public sources.

Coordinates the collection and analysis of program activity data; Assist in development of annual comprehensive statistical and narrative program reports.

This is a grant-funded position.

Salary: $26.08 + DOE

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 2 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related professional experience in program specialization, e.g., counseling or teaching.
