Programmer Analyst III - USC Student Health - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Non-Exempt) (Non-Union)

Student Health Hospital Los Angeles, California

USC Student Health is seeking a creative and collaborative programmer to work with a small team in support of new projects and ongoing operations.

Develops application design specifications based on analysis/assessment of user needs. Develops, tests, and installs new software applications, and enhances functionality of existing applications. Performs work of moderate complexity, handling most activities individually or under general supervision of senior programming staff. Evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet deadlines or solve specific problems.


Minimum Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field OR the equivalent combination of experience and education that would demonstrate the capability to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Minimum Experience/Knowledge: • Minimum three (3) years of experience; however, combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience. • Five (5) years of solid IT experience in system development and implement highly desired. • Ability to communicate with peers and management to gather information; coordinate work with others; prioritize projects; research information; understand and apply policies and procedures; research/ gather information; organize and plan. • Demonstrated ability and knowledge on: Analysis; assessment/evaluation; conceptualization and design; knowledge of applicable Jaws/policies/principles/etc.; problem identification and resolution; teaching/training; applications/systems development methodologies; business requirements tools and techniques; programming languages; write in computer code; software design tools; technical documentation. Required expertise: • SQL, C#, .NET framework, SSIS, SQL Server Management Studio, Git, Excel data processing functions Preferred expertise: • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PowerShell, Visual Studio, HL7, Electronic Health Record experience, Point and Click EHR Required License/Certification: • LA City Fire and Safety Certification. If no certification upon hire, must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
