Project Administrator

Keck School of Medicine Los Angeles, California

The Department of Population and Public Health Science is in search of a uniquely qualified individual to serve both as a Project Administrator and Data Scientist to support daily operations of several research projects in genetic epidemiology and environmental health.

We are particularly seeking individuals with experience in general administrative duties and strong organizational skills. Ideal candidates will also have experience in data science with the ability to evaluate and implement data analytic methods. 

Organizational duties involve (1) preparation and facilitation of progress and special reports; (2) strategic planning and tracking of data and data sharing in a cloud environment; and (3) and project management support to faculty. Data science duties include (1) data processing; (2) descriptive statistics; and (3) data visualization.

The required minimum knowledge and skills include (1) completion of a bachelor’s degree (e.g. BS or BA) (Master’s degree preferred); (2) ability to manage multiple projects; (3) strong organizational and problem-solving skills; (4); data analytic skills including the use of R, R markdown, and R shiny; (5) basic understanding of biology and epidemiology; (6) strong writing ability and oral communication skills; and (7) the ability to work effectively and collegiality with colleagues.


Minimum Education: Master's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 3 years, Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education and project administration experience in specialized field represented by project.
