Project Assistant

Center for Genetic Epidemiology Los Angeles, California

The Multiethnic Cohort (MEC) at USC is seeking a Project Assistant to join its staff. The MEC is a population-based cohort study of >215,000 men and women that was established to study the genetic basis for many common chronic diseases and phenotypes. In the cohort, we have initiated numerous genome-wide association studies in minority populations, including prostate and breast cancer in African Americans and type 2 diabetes in Latinos.

Salary: Hourly, TBD

Work Schedule: 20 hours/wk, part-time

The Project Assistant will conduct follow-up telephone interviews with study participants on a daily basis and assist with data collection for a project or research study.  He/she will assist with research center or project administrative functions as required.

Preferred Experience: Bilingual, Flexible work hours (some weekends)

Minimum Education: High school or equivalent

Minimum Experience: 1 year

Minimum Field of Expertise: Knowledge of data collection procedures and some experience with proposal preparation and production of technical documents
