Project Specialist

Center for Economic and Social Research Los Angeles, California

USC’s Center for Economic and Social Research (CESR) is looking Project Specialist who will work in a multidisciplinary environment in support of policy research on a wide range of issues.

The job responsibilities include:

  • Assists in developing the study protocols. Participates in writing of reports, research papers, articles and other documentation of project status and/or administrative activities or project results.
  • Develop STATA or SAS programs for data cleaning and analysis. Generates graphs, charts or tables to present analysis results and provides interpretation.
  • Assists in the planning of data collection. Prepares reports, correspondence, other materials and analysis according to project schedules.
  • Assists with organizing and scheduling activities to meet research objectives and study protocol compliance. Communicates with study team personnel to ensure study procedures are followed and research is performed as described in protocol.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, quantitative social sciences or related field.

Ability to produce careful and detail-oriented work

Excellent communication skills

Basic understanding of statistical methods; Knowledge of statistical programming (SAS or STATA)

Interest in applying to a Ph.D program in one or two years

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.
