USC's Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry is looking for a highly energetic Bilingual English / Spanish Registered Dental Assistant to join the Special Patient’s Clinic!
We are looking for a candidate who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The highly motivated individual will provide both administrative and comprehensive chair-side assisting services for Ostrow Community Oral Health Programs, Special Patient’s Clinic, and other Ostrow Clinics as needed. This individual will also act as a Dental/Project Assistant for LA County Planning Grant. This position will require some evenings and work hours will vary.
Responsibilities also include: assists in the organization and implementation of the Office of Community Oral Health Program activities, including the LA county HIV Planning Grant for general dentistry and Ryan White Grant; assists with grant patients; acts as patient liaison between PG Grant patients. This individual will also set up treatment/clinical area for patients, maintain inventory of dental instruments and equipment, and assist with patient registration and provides patient education and treatment planning.
The ideal candidate must be able to work independently with moderate technical guidance. The successful candidate should have previous experience working in one or more recognized dental disciplines, possess excellent interpersonal patient service skills, and have the ability to multitask.

Minimum Education: Specialized/technical training
Minimum Experience: 3 years
Minimum Field of Expertise: Three years chairside experience directly in a dental environment or private practice in one or more recognized dental disciplines (general/prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, pedodontics, orthodontics, special patients). Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance, PPO and dental terminology. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal patient service skills, and ability to multi-task. Working knowledge of proper sterilization and instrument management techniques. Demonstrated experience in a high volume, fast paced environment. Demonstrated team-oriented and collaborative work style. Ability to travel to and from various local locations. Possesses a current California Registered Dental Assistant License, current California X-Ray Certificate, current CPR Certification, and current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Certification.
