Research Associate

Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute Los Angeles, California

The USC Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute and Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (LONI, are world leaders in the development of advanced computational and scientific approaches for the comprehensive mapping of brain structure and function. LONI’s unique multidisciplinary environment and cutting edge resources allow for the collaboration of neuroscientists, programmers, and software developers toward a better understanding of the human and mouse connectome.

One Research Associate position is currently available working on the Mouse Connectome Project in the lab of Dr. Hongwei Dong. The ideal candidate has a strong background in rodent neurophysiology with previous research experience in multiphoton imaging and its applications towards in vivo calcium imaging, optogenetics, and 3D CLARITY imaging. Highly motivated individuals with excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary in this teamwork-based research environment. Candidates will have the opportunity to work with new cutting edge multiphoton imaging equipment and develop neuroanatomical and data informatics skills necessary for a scientific career investigating brain structure and function.

Minimum Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate
Minimum Experience: 1 year
Minimum Field of Expertise: Directly related education and experience in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods.
