Recruitment and Retention Coordinator

The Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at the USC Keck School of Medicine is recruiting a full time Recruitment and Retention Coordinator to join our team.  The ADRC is an interdisciplinary group of researchers including faculty investigators, research coordinators, health professionals and trainees who are committed to research on memory problems and aging.  

The Recruitment Coordinator will work with USC investigators and research staff to support recruitment and retention of participants into research studies.  They will also work to enhance the education of professionals and underserved communities about cognitive health and reducing dementia risk factors.  The ideal candidate will have prior experience with community outreach and education.  

Accountabilities include, but not limited to:

  • Actively recruit participants by contacting, scheduling and interviewing new and existing participants.  This includes connecting and coordinating with community partners and doing in-person recruitment activities in a variety of neighborhoods across the Los Angeles region.
  • Assist investigators in researching, planning and designing outreach and education activities.  
  • Assist in maintaining data on recruitment, outreach and education activities.
  • Assist in the development, coordination and distribution of recruitment and educational materials.
  • Assist investigators in providing training and educational opportunities for patients, families, caregivers and community groups that focus on providing the latest information regarding advances in Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Assist investigators in developing outreach programs on dementia care and treatment for California’s underserved, vulnerable and disparate populations. 

Preferred Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred, particularly in social sciences, psychology, public health or social work.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Previous experience with community outreach and education for research studies 

The incumbent will be responsible for a range of work assignments and must be well organized, able to manage several projects at the same time, and function well in a fast-paced environment. 

Essential skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, etc.), social media, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Salary is dependent on experience and education.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 1 year Minimum Field of Expertise: Administrative or research experience. Working knowledge of MS Office applications. Demonstrated effective communication and writing skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
