The Department of Medicine is recruiting a Research Lab Tech II to join an established and funded group of researchers recently relocated to the Keck School of Medicine (KSOM), University of Southern California (USC).
The Rosen/Golden laboratories focus on understanding the innate and adaptive immune response associated with the promotion and resolution of inflammation and fibrosis in human liver disease. Recent appreciation of the complexity and importance of the role played by immune cells in liver disease, raises exciting new opportunities to better understand and manipulate liver-specific immune responses. This knowledge is being directed to design novel and more effective therapeutic strategies to harness pro- and anti-inflammatory mechanisms to achieve the optimal balance between effective immunity and tissue protection, from the harmful effects of chronic inflammation, in the context of several liver and organ-specific diseases.
The position requires the successful applicant to have prior research experience. The Research Lab Tech duties include:
· Performs routine specimen processing
· Data entry
· Clients supply management
· Maintenance of detailed logs
· Lab equipment usage and maintenance
· Maintenance of documentation via spreadsheets, Laboratory Information Systems, etc.
Associate’s Degree in relevant field
- Human Sample Processing
- Flow Cytometric Analysis
- Good Computer and Communication Skills
- Knowledge of working with Animal Models in a research setting

Salary commensurate with training and experience

Minimum Education: Associate's degree, Specialized/technical training, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education

Minimum Field of Expertise: Working knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols. Knowledge of computer analysis techniques and ability to provide routine analysis and interpretation of research data.
