Keck Medicine of USC

Keck Medicine of USC includes the Keck School of Medicine of USC, the region’s first medical school; the renowned USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the first comprehensive cancer centers established by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States; the USC Care Medical Group, a medical faculty practice; the Keck Medical Center of USC, which includes two acute care hospitals: 401-licensed bed Keck Hospital of USC and 60-licensed bed USC Norris Cancer Hospital; and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, a 158-licensed bed community hospital. It also includes more than 40 outpatient facilities, some at affiliated hospitals, in Los Angeles, Orange, Kern, Tulare and Ventura counties.

In 2016, U.S. News & World Report ranked Keck Medical Center of USC among the Top 10 hospitals in the state and among the Top 50 hospitals in the United States in seven specialties: ophthalmology, urology, cancer, geriatrics, orthopedic surgery, nephrology and cardiology and heart surgery.

RN Coordinator - Engemann Student Health Center - Full Time 7.5 Hours

Serves as a valued member of the Engemann management team as the RN Coordinator in the clinic to provide guidance to, LVNs, MAs and administrative staff. Performs complex and varied administrative and clinical assignments. Serves as a personal contact for physicians, staff, patients and outside departments in order to address problems, issues or concerns that require attention. Assists in management of clinical unit operations. Serves as the primary competency validator/educator for the clinical staff. Able to provide telephone triage for ​same day appointments. In addition, as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to provide therapeutic care to patients and their families in the outpatient setting, when required. Ensures patient’s right to privacy, safety, and confidentiality is maintained. Maintains a safe environment in accordance with standards, policies, and safety regulations. Ensures compliance with infection control policies. Complex, independent problem solving when overseeing patient care. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education: Eligibility, as defined by the California Board of Nursing, to have and maintain an RN license. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum Experience/Knowledge: Five years’ experience in outpatient/inpatient clinical practice preferred. Experience supervising clinicians. Urology care experience preferred.

Required License/Certification: Valid California Registered Nursing license.

Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider card from the American Heart Association.

Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
