Keck Medicine of USC

Keck Medicine of USC includes the Keck School of Medicine of USC, the region’s first medical school; the renowned USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the first comprehensive cancer centers established by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States; the USC Care Medical Group, a medical faculty practice; the Keck Medical Center of USC, which includes two acute care hospitals: 401-licensed bed Keck Hospital of USC and 60-licensed bed USC Norris Cancer Hospital; and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, a 158-licensed bed community hospital. It also includes more than 40 outpatient facilities, some at affiliated hospitals, in Los Angeles, Orange, Kern, Tulare and Ventura counties.

In 2016, U.S. News & World Report ranked Keck Medical Center of USC among the Top 10 hospitals in the state and among the Top 50 hospitals in the United States in seven specialties: ophthalmology, urology, cancer, geriatrics, orthopedic surgery, nephrology and cardiology and heart surgery.

Supervisor, Anesthesia Tech - Surgery - Full Time 8 Hour Rotating Shift (Non-Union)

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. HS Diploma or GED required

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:

  • Five years’ experience as an Anesthesia Technologist in a perioperative area and understands departmental operations.  At least 1–2 years of supervisory/lead experience.   Supervisory experience in a perioperative setting preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with other staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to act on and solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet timely deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team leader and/ or as a team player.
  • Displays a positive attitude.
  • Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, train, and evaluate work results.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.
  • Knowledge of standard procedures and methods used within the Anesthesia areas within applicable Federal, State and other regulatory agencies.

Required License/Certification:

  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
  • Certified Anesthesiology Technician certification from the American society of Anesthesiology Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) required.
  • Fire and Safety Certification.  If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date. 


The Anesthesia Tech Supervisor possesses recognized leadership and sound clinical skills and will actively assist the Clinical Director of Perioperative Services and Chief of Anesthesia Department in coordinating anesthesia services and activities to facilitate smooth flow in surgical and procedural areas. Assists with set-up of room, procuring anesthesia devices and equipment needed by anesthesia, turn-over and cleaning of OR and training and education of anesthesia tech. The Anesthesia Tech will supervise Anesthesia tech. This position will handle the disciplinary actions for those they supervise. They will collect data and provide process improvement reports monthly.
