Public Communications Coordinator

CID Sacramento, California

The Center for Inclusive Democracy (formerly California Civic Engagement Project) located in Sacramento, CA has an immediate opening for a Public Communications Coordinator. This is four month, fixed term position. The position calls for work in interdisciplinary studies, focusing on questions of civic engagement and voting behavior. The Public Communications Coordinator responsibilities include:

  • Produces newsletters and other promotional materials in printed and digital formats
  • Develops content for social media; coordinates and manages press and communication tasks such as content, interviews, website news, etc.
  • Lead communications with state and local partnerships, including the dissemination of the Center's research

Preferred education: Master's degree in Political Science, Sociology or a related field.

Basic qualifications include: communications skills to engage effectively with a variety of collaborators and audiences; strong writing, proofreading and editing abilities; the ability to research. Experience working collaboratively with governmental and community leaders is a strong plus.

The position involves a focus on public service, providing research to political, non-profit and academic outlets, in order to encourage voting in California and beyond.
