Clinical Trial Recruitment Coordinator

The USC Keck School of Medicine - Alzheimer Therapeutic Research Institute (ATRI), located in San Diego, California, is an academic institute comprised of scientific collaborators committed to advancing the development of new treatments for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) through innovative clinical trials.

The Clinical Trial Recruitment Coordinator will work with the USC ATRI Recruitment and Retention team to support clinical sites in their participant recruitment and retention efforts for multi-site clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease.  The incumbent will be responsible for a wide range of work assignments and must be well-organized, able to manage several projects at the same time, and function well in a fast-paced environment.

Incumbent will be a self-starter, able to think critically, and effectively problem solve.  Must be able to work independently and efficiently, as well as work successfully within a team environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with clinical trial participant recruitment and retention efforts and the ability to understand research protocols.  Prior comparable experience that relates to the following position goals is also desirable.

  • Assist clinical research sites in researching, planning and designing outreach and promotional activities to help reach the target population for Alzheimer’s disease clinical trials

  • Develop, manage, and interpret participant enrollment and retention date/technical reports to present to study teams

  • Assist in maintaining statistics on outreach activities to help measure the return on investment

  • Respond to and resolve participant inquiries over the phone or via e-mail

  • Assist in the coordination of the design and development of clinical trial recruitment and educational materials and promotional items in collaboration with partners and vendors

Bilingual in English/Spanish is desirable but not required.  Essential skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Google Sheets/Docs.  Knowledge of Teamwork Desk systems is desirable.  Excellent interpersonal, as well as verbal and written communication skills is required.

Location: San Diego, CA

Salary is dependent on experience and education.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 2 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Preferably related professional experience in program specialization, e.g., counseling or teaching. Preferred Education:  Master’s degree Preferred Experience: 3 years Preferred Field of Expertise: Special education, licensing or certification requirements may exist for some positions based on program content and services.
