Patient Care Coordinator - Keck Medicine of USC Specialty Pharmacy

USC's School of Pharmacy is accepting applications for a Specialty Pharmacy Patient Care Coordinator to provide professional, knowledgeable and courteous customer service to patients of the Keck Medicine of USC Specialty Pharmacy.

The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for coordinating copay assistance and deliveries for USC specialty pharmacy patients and serving as a liaison between patient and pharmacy.  Activities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Answers inbound calls
  • Makes outbound scheduling calls
  • Ensures appropriate adherence by assessing refill history and remaining medication on hand
  • Files copay assistance applications and follows through to completion
    • Copay card
    • Third party foundations
    • Patient access program coordination
  • Processes/re-queues orders when appropriate
  • Coordinates financial arrangements and collects co-payments
  • Assists in packaging and shipping
  • Answers patient inquiries about billing, procedures, policies and available services
  • Must function in strict accordance with written policies and procedures
  • Must have great organizational, multitasking and customer service skills

Minimum education: high school

Minimum experience: 2 years working customer service

Minimum field of expertise: customer service experience

Preferred knowledge: experience with pharmacy copay assistance programs

Preferred experience: outpatient pharmacy/providers office practice; RX30 Pharmacy Software, Cerner, New Leaf software.

Hours may vary; occasional Saturday assignments.
