Keck Medicine of USC includes the Keck School of Medicine of USC, the region’s first medical school; the renowned USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the first comprehensive cancer centers established by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States; the USC Care Medical Group, a medical faculty practice; the Keck Medical Center of USC, which includes two acute care hospitals: 401-licensed bed Keck Hospital of USC and 60-licensed bed USC Norris Cancer Hospital; and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, a 158-licensed bed community hospital. Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent experience or certifications.

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:

  • 3 or more years of related experience including system design, documentation, maintenance, and upgrades and troubleshooting; Healthcare experience preferred; experience in SQL/Oracle/Access or an SQL/Oracle derivative (such as MySQL); experience in procedural or object orientated language in a report writing environment; understanding of general programming concepts including system development life cycle; ability to write programs and procedures utilizing one or more of the following languages and tools: PHP, Javascript/Ajax, CSS, MS .Net, Visual Basic, MS SQL Server, Reporting Services, Scripting, Crystal Reports, Microsoft Access

The Programmer writes, modifies and adapts software applications using standard procedures and techniques, performs limited systems analysis under direct supervision of more experienced programming staff, and develops software applications using programming languages to the given design specifications. This incumbent will follow design specifications to code, test, debug, install, document, and maintain software applications. Additionally, this individual will develop new and enhanced functionality for software applications, prepare code documentation in support of program development, and perform work of moderate complexity, as well as handle most activities under general supervision of more experienced programming staff.
