POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the department Vice President or Director, performs a variety of confidential and complex duties and coordinating functions requiring initiative, and independent judgement. This individual works independently to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments and tasks. Demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the unit and the organization. Applies good interpersonal and communication process utilizing verbal and non-verbal skills to achieve organizational service goals of customer satisfaction and a positive work environment. Responsible for timekeeping, attendance and scheduling.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in implementing departmental and hospital goals and objectives.
  • Consistently contributes positively to the image of the Department and the Hospital.
  • Takes initiative to learn new job-related skills. Accepts new responsibilities willingly. Demonstrates exceptional customer service in dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Displays professional commitment and supports the unit team by promoting unity and teamwork among coworkers, and by maintaining a positive attitude and positive working relationships.
  • Maintains and orders department supplies, forms and equipment as needed.
  • Obtains specific discharge information to effectively communicate with former patients.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Performs routine tasks necessary for maintaining a clean, safe and efficient work environment.
  • Prioritizes and works on multiple tasks in a given time period.
  • Processes and enters data; keeps accurate records.
  • Provides administrative support for the department, when needed, answering phones, providing information and assisting community partners, schedules appointments.
  • Responsible for understanding and participating in the organization-wide Performance Improvement Program through orientation, education, departmental and interdepartmental quality control, performance improvement and quality planning activities.
  • Seeks opportunities and experiences to enhance skills and expertise.
  • Uses word processing skills to compose, prepare and process correspondence, reports, and forms as needed. Acts as a resource to department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Minimum (Required) High School Diploma or GED Preferred (Not required) • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. • Formal secretarial education a plus. Work Experience Preferred (Not required) Hospital experience desired. Pay Transparency The hourly rate range for this position is $23.42 - $30.73.
