Distribution Tech - Central Services - Full Time 8 Hours Evening (12PM - 8:30PM)

Reporting to the Distribution Team Lead, this position is responsible for maintaining and delivering appropriate quantities of supplies for all PAR locations within the hospital. This position requires a working knowledge of the hospital’s current inventory practices and PAR stock techniques. Distribution and maintenance of all Central Service equipment, exchange carts and trays is also required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to resolve emergencies related to acquiring and distributing supplies and equipment as needed.
- Assist with pulling orders and pick list for floors; also Pyxis machines.
- Deliver packages (FedEx, UPS, etc.) to various departments.
- Dispense and deliver products and equipment requested by verbal, written and telephone requisitions.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through accurate utilization of the Lawson Materials Management
- Flexibility required in work schedule, hours and shifts.
- Inventory Control computer system, based on established PAR stock levels for every unit.
- Maintain all supply bins and shelving to ensure appropriate product labels are properly placed and reflect current product/manufacturer information.
- Maintains professional work habits by organizing workload, setting priorities, and completing assignments in a timely manner; utilizing resources appropriately; complying with department program standards; and adapting well to change.
- Night shift receives, separates and delivers to all units all supplies arriving from the main distributor.
- Perform routine cleaning of all supply bins located in all stocking locations.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
- Performs checks and fills anesthesia carts and OR suites.
- Promotes a positive and safe work environment by maintaining good relations with management personnel, peers, and hospital staff; by attending department meetings; by supporting the hospital and its goals, policies, and management decisions; by adhering to the hospital dress code; by maintaining an awareness of hospital infection control, body mechanics and safety policies; by recertification in safety on an annual basis; and by maintaining confidentiality regarding work related matters, identifying and reporting barriers to departmental effectiveness, recommending constructive problem solving methods, managing time, demonstrating flexibility in work assignments, and active participation as a team member.
- Put away supplies on PAR carts from drop supplies in totes in designated areas and bring back empty totes. This may include the transportation of trays with medication; and/or sharps. Products will be delivered to the floor and put away under the supervision of a charge nurse/nurse.
- Refer all problems, unusual requests or incidents to the Distribution Lead and/or manager at time of occurrence.
- Responsible for understanding and participating in the organization-wide Quality Improvement Program through orientation, education, departmental and inter-departmental quality control, improvement and quality planning activities.
- Restock all Central Service trays and exchange carts and replenish with appropriate supplies.
- Through continuing education, maintains up-to-date knowledge in the area of Transport, Distribution and Materials Management.
Job requirements Education Minimum - High school diploma or equivalent Work Experience Minimum • Minimum two years of materials/inventory control/distribution experience preferred; in a healthcare setting preferred. • Computer experience required Pay Transparency The hourly rate range for this position is $21.00 - $26.98.
