Perinatal Data Coordinator - Labor and Delivery - Per Diem 8 Hours Day (Union, Non-Exempt)
Apply Keck Medicine of USC Hospital Arcadia, CaliforniaThe Perinatal Data Coordinator provides quality, clerical, and data collection support in the Maternal Child Health Department.
Minimum Education: High School or equivalent Minimum Experience: 1 year Medical Record Department (HIM) experience. 1 - 2 years Processing Birth Certificates in an acute care facility. Minimum Skills: Excellent skills in the use of networked personal computers and data entry and data base relationships. Detail oriented and aware of the importance and impact of data quality. Must be able to use Microsoft Office applications and serve as a resource on the use of the application to staff. Proficient in keyboard typing, Microsoft Word and Excel. Content knowledge of medical terminology. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to function independently and as a member of a team. Excellent working knowledge of acute care demographic and clinical data elements, medical terminology and formulae. Knowledgeable of JCAHO standards especially those related to Improving Performance. Completes Birth Record and other required forms according to established guidelines and regulatory requirements. Reviews, verifies and enters data into various data bases and electronic programs and paper forms as required. Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association. Preferred Experience: 1 - 2 years Newborn Screening Data reporting. Pay Transparency The hourly rate range for this position is $21.35 - $27.89.
