Manager, Advanced Practice Provider - GP - LV Craig Family Medicine Clinic - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Exempt) (Non-Union)

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager, GP is responsible for managing both the administrative and clinical operations of the advanced practice providers in the primary care GP department across all Las Vegas Culinary Health Centers. This role involves collaborating in the development of structured metrics to evaluate APP care outcomes and quality, ensuring APP compliance with state and federal regulations, and supporting the integration of APPs in cost-saving initiatives. A key responsibility of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager is to lead and support advanced practice to ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient patient care and implement best practices across Keck. They provide direction and oversight for Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners and PAs) in designated areas of KCMG (Keck Community Medical Group), offering strong management, coaching, and mentoring to ensure their development aligns with the mission, values, and goals of Keck Medicine of USC. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Manager will utilize strong performance management skills to foster an empowered and engaged workforce, creating and maintaining a practice environment that aligns with Keck's commitment to patient-centered care, innovation, team collaboration, and evidence-based practices. By building strong relationships with key stakeholders—including physicians, nursing, and administrative leadership—the APP Manager will help advance organizational goals, programs, and projects. This role will oversee the effective implementation of policies and procedures related to hiring, credentialing, privileging, care delivery models, and performance appraisals/competency assessments. Additionally, the APP Manager will be responsible for conducting annual reviews and providing employee counseling. This position reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at the Las Vegas Culinary Health Centers. The APP Manager will provide direction and oversight of Advanced Practice Providers while also maintaining a clinical practice of their own. The Manager is expected to provide patient care within their area of specialty consistent with other Nurse Practitioners. Travel between health centers is required.

  • • Manages assigned staff and functions by assigning work, developing work procedures consistent with center policy, establishing work schedules (including assisting and reviewing CME, PTO request) and monitoring work performance performed by subordinates to meet agreed-upon goals, objectives, and target dates. • Performs management functions by interviewing and hiring staff members; providing or arranging for training for subordinates; evaluating performance; and recommending or initiating personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, merit salary increases, or disciplinary action to ensure adequate and competent staffing as well as initiating or recommending responses to employee grievances. • Participates in or leads efforts to assess outcomes of APP care throughout KCMG (Keck Community Medical Group) • Ensures that APPs meet or exceed various local, state, and federal regulatory agency requirements. • Ensures that APPs throughout KCMG (Keck Community Medical Group) have evidence-based practices that support cost-savings and revenue generating initiatives. • Collaborates with the Center for Advanced Practice to create, support, or lead initiatives to improve the work environment of APPs throughout KCMG (Keck Community Medical Group). • Supports the shared leadership model of shared governance and participate in Magnet activities. • Participates in a clinical practice. • Performs procedures such as obtaining specimens, performing injections, immunizations, staples, suturing, wound care, splinting and management of conditions produced by trauma or infection.
  • • Performs management principles and practices such as, but not limited to, employee hiring, evaluation, counseling, and termination; budgeting; and employee recognition and rewards. • Practices evaluation and process improvement. • Performs standards of care and practice of APP roles. • Works within the organization and operation of trauma services necessary to ensure the delivery of quality, cost-effective and efficient patient care. • Promotes a spirit of inquiry and practice based on evidence by using research-based knowledge or research utilization methods to identify and implement innovations in patient care and/or participating in research, clinical investigatory or quality projects. • Uses educational strategies to influence the development of staff and the provision of quality care for patients and families. • Interprets impact of broad scope organizational change for staff and develops change strategies for successful implementation. • Continually assesses all services, identifies problems, and utilizes data, including trends and best practices, to propose innovative approaches/solutions. • Works collaboratively with others, develops and manages operational goals with measurable outcomes, strategies, initiatives, and programs aligned with Keck’s vision, missions, and values. • Engages staff and other stakeholders in continuous improvement of systems and processes; manages resources for staff participation in improvement work activities. • Articulates, monitors, and enforces regulatory requirements and standards for quality/safe patient care • Develops and implements clinical outcome measures for quality improvement, cost and complication reduction, and the implementation of evidence-based practice. • Incorporates the use of evidence-based practice and appreciative enquiry into program development and improvement activities • Manages complex interdepartmental and interdisciplinary relationships to assure collaboration and effective/efficient operations within the area of specialty • Requests, interprets and evaluates diagnostic and laboratory tests and takes appropriate actions as medically indicated in accordance with departmental protocols. Identifies and reports any specific signs and symptoms, problems or potential problems requiring further assessment, communication and/or intervention to promote positive outcomes. • Translates and implements national initiatives at KCMG (Keck Community Medical Group). • Performs flexible work schedules to ensure and accommodate center needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Req Master’s degree Advanced Practice Provider - *Master's Degree In Nursing, Or Other Healthcare-Related Field From An Accredited University.
  • Req 5 years Experience as a licensed Advanced Practice Provider: (Nurse Practitioner),
  • Req 2-3 years Management Experienced required.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Req Registered Nurse (NV NSBN) Valid Nevada Registered Nursing license
  • Req Nurse Practitioner - NP (NV NSBN) Nurse Practitioner (NP) Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by a nationally accredited nursing organization (e.g. ANCC, AACN, American Board Of Nursing Specialties or National Academy of Nurse Practitioners)
  • Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
  • Req Certification - Job Relevant Advanced Radiology Life Support (ARLS) required upon hire or obtained within thirty (30) days from date of hire

The annual base salary range for this position is $133,120.00 - $219,648.00.
