Assistant/Associate or Full Professor (Tenure Track) - Pharmacometrics

Titus Family Department of Clinical Pharmacy/Faculty Faculty Los Angeles, California

The USC School of Pharmacy (the US News and World Report #1 ranked private pharmacy school in the country) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, tenure track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor level to conduct research and teach in the Titus Family Department of Clinical Pharmacy. 

Description:

This position seeks to combine quantitative modeling approaches with translational science, specifically the accurate translation between preclinical and clinical research. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing an independent research program in translational pharmacometrics, focused on integrating the optimization of preclinical data generation with multi-scale modeling and predictive analytic approaches to develop and advance drug research. Teaching responsibilities include mentoring postdoctoral fellows, graduate and professional students, and teaching advanced coursework in pharmacometrics at the professional, graduate and postdoctoral level.

Building from our established programs in the Department and across the school, the USC School of Pharmacy offers unique opportunities for interdisciplinary research.  Within the Department, we have strengths in preclinical and clinical discovery, pharmacometrics and pharmacogenomics, and clinical practice areas of excellence. Educational Requirements:            

A doctoral degree in pharmacy, systems or computational biology, pharmaceutical sciences, statistics/biostatistics, chemical/biomedical engineering, medicine or a closely related field, with relevant training in applied mathematics, statistics and pharmacometrics.

Qualifications and Experience:      

  • Expertise in pharmacometrics / quantitative pharmacology.
  • Senior-level faculty applicants are expected to have an outstanding track record of publications and extramural funding to support research.
  • Excellence in teaching at the graduate and postdoctoral levels.
  • A formulated approach to develop or advance an extramurally funded research program in pharmacometrics / quantitative pharmacology / translational sciences.
  • Prior academic or industry research experience is preferred, and a record of collaboration with basic, clinical and/or translational researchers.
