Assistant/Associate Professor of Gerontology (Open Rank)

Leonard Davis School of Gerontology Faculty Los Angeles, California

The USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology is looking for an assistant/associate professor who specializes in aging and technology. Candidates with a Ph.D. in Gerontology or Engineering are preferred but other closely related fields will be considered. Applicants should have demonstrated experience working with or on behalf of older adults, as well as a deep understanding of issues around how current and emerging technologies can be leveraged to benefit older adults in home, healthcare, and community settings.  Teaching experience is strongly preferred. 

Full-time instructional professors will spend most of their time on teaching and teaching-related duties. These two instructional faculty positions will assist in the development of our new Masters of Technology and Aging degree program as well as the development of new curriculums as needed. Compensation and academic rank Assistant/Associate Professor are commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Preferred qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Gerontology or Ph.D./MD or equivalent advanced degree
  • Experience and expertise in applied technology, medical technology or related field
  • Prior teaching experience at the university level
