Assistant Professor of Experimental Physics

Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences Faculty Los Angeles, California

The Department of Physics & Astronomy ( at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, California invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position in (a) experimental condensed matter physics, or (b) experimental atomic, molecular, or optical physics, or (c) experiments in quantum information. Candidates should have a doctoral degree in experimental physics or a related field, and have demonstrated their ability to conduct innovative and independent research in one of the above fields. The anticipated start date is Fall of 2022.

Applications should include: (1) a curriculum vitae, (2) a cover letter describing research interests related to the position, (3) a statement of current research activities and future projects, (4) a statement of teaching philosophy and approach, (5) a statement about the candidate’s vision regarding the teaching and mentoring of students of diverse backgrounds, (6) the names and contact information of three individuals who will provide letters of reference.
