Assistant Professor of Philosophy
Apply Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences Faculty Los Angeles, CaliforniaThe School of Philosophy in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at the University of Southern California seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Philosophy beginning August 2023. Area of Specialization: Normative or applied ethics or moral psychology or the philosophy of law. Area of Competence: Open. The position will be filled only at the highest level of promise or distinction. A Ph.D. or equivalent is required by time of appointment. Demonstrated excellence in research required, and successful classroom experience valued. Duties include active research, graduate supervision, normal committee service, and classroom teaching at all levels. The standard teaching load is two courses per semester.
Applications require a covering letter, a CV, a writing sample, a teaching statement, and at least three letters of reference. Recent Ph.D.’s should also include a transcript of graduate coursework. The annual base salary range for this position is $99,750 - $107,300.
